Amministratore Delegato IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele e dell’IRCCS Galeazzi di Milano
Elena Bottinelli, milanese classe 1966, è amministratore delegato dell’IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele dal 2017 e dell’IRCCS Galeazzi di Milano dal 2005. Si è laureata in Ingegneria, con una specializzazione in Bioingegneria, presso il Politecnico di Milano e dopo la laurea, prima di arrivare al Gruppo San Donato, ha lavorato dieci anni in multinazionali leader nel settore dei dispositivi medici e ortopedici. È membro dell’Associazione Alumni del Politecnico e Mentor del programma Mentorship Programme dello stesso. Nel 2019 la celebre rivista di economia “Forbes” ha inserito Elena Bottinelli nella classifica delle 100 donne italiane di maggior successo.
Il suo campo di interesse principale è sempre stato legato alla ricerca, allo sviluppo e all’applicazione delle tecnologie sia all’interno dell’ospedale sia nel rapporto con il paziente per realizzare il cosiddetto ospedale diffuso, approccio in linea con la visione del Gruppo San Donato che sta costruendo il nuovo Galeazzi, presso il distretto Mind, e il nuovo polo chirurgico e delle urgenze dell’IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.

Elena Bottinelli was born in Milan in 1966. She graduated in engineering, specializing in bioengineering, from the Polytechnic of Milan. Before joining the San Donato Group, she worked for ten years in leading multinational companies in the field of medical and orthopaedic devices. Since 2005 and 2017, she has been the CEO of the IRCCS Galeazzi Hospital of Milan and the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital, respectively. She is a member of the alumni association and the mentorship program at the Polytechnic. In 2019, Forbes magazine included Elena in its 100 most successful Italian women ranking. Her main field of interest has always been related to research and development, and the application of technologies in the health care sector. Her approach is in line with the vision of the San Donato Group, which is focused on building the new Galeazzi, in the Mind district, and a new surgical and emergency centre for the IRCCS San Raffaelle Hospital in Milan. A mother of two boys who are now university students, Elena's other great passion is cycling. In 2019, together with her husband she toured Japan by bike.
